AmiAmi and now Mandrake are the only websites I've come across where you have to gamble with an order and hope the postage isn't too expensive. Everyone jumps in their defence but to me this seems like a ludicrous shopping model. And I really have no clue why so many are so keen to defend it.

Imagine trying to buy an item of clothing in the shops and you get to the til and they tell you you have to pay for the item twice. It's not the same thing, sure, but in terms of money it is.

Really? The email says otherwise about cancellations.

We will accept it if there is a problem with the item which was not described on the item page. Please ask questions about the item before placing the order if the description is not clear to you.
