I dunno, is the honest answer.

But in a lot of Toku, especially Super Sentai/Power Rangers, the danger is a jump cut away. It's implied that people die every day but it's never explicitly stated, so it just takes me off guard every time the show reminds me just how many people Godai hasn't saved. There have probably been others who have let much more die but they don't usually remind us of it or give us an exact figure to work with.
