BLACK

The world erupted into chaos around them. Harpies descended from the skies hurling arrows of flame which impacted the dirt and detonated like small mines laid beneath the earth, Lizardmen from behind hurled rocks lined with powder that shredded misfortunate trees caught in their path. And it was has though the world had slowed around Malcolm. The only sound heard had become the heft of his breathing, and the steady pound of his heart inside his chest. Within his strong arms was held the boy, still clutching Jennifer's helmet, whom she gave her life to protect. And silently he swore no harm would befall him.
The Harpy swooping down from the treetops was caught in the corner of his eyes. She had gone into a death spiral, crimson ribbons of energy stretching down from the sword tip stretched out before her. Malcolm roared and called upon his Axe. Catapulting himself off a nearby thick tree trunk, holding the boy tight within his left arm, Malcolm rolled with the leap and swung the mighty axe down with the right slicing straight through the Harpy's head. Watching as it bounced off the tree he used to launch himself, while the rest of her just crumpled on the floor like so much dead meat. They woke up an angry giant this day.
His pace was never broken. Refusing to allow one of this hellish creations to lay one hand upon his precious cargo. He would not fail Jennifer, he couldn't. But he was blindsided! Tumbling onto the ground he lost control of the boy who rolled and began crying as he body struck some nearby bushes. Malcolm roared. Shaking his head clear and forcing himself back onto his feet where he saw one of the Commander Lizardmen holding his hammer, what struck him more than likely, and cackling in their incomprehensible language.

"Allow me to show you the weight of your mistake."

Malcolm charged. Both hands gripping his weapon tight. His thighs burned, he was pushing himself to his limit. He was never built for this kind of speed. But discomfort wouldn't stop him now. Drawing his weapon up Malcolm leapt higher than even he thought he could!

OXEN EARTH BREAK!

Malcolm roared. One mighty swing of his axe in a downward arch and the glowing purple blade of his Axe sliced clean-through the Lizardman's weapon as he brought it up in an attempted block. Through the weapon, and through the Lizardman holding it. Bisecting him straight through until he exploded in spent energy. But Malcolm wasn't staying to revel in his kill. He was already running again, scooping the boy back into his arms.

"You'll not fall again, my word is given."

The boy nodded, because the boy believed him, and he clung against the tunic of his Exalted suit tight as they ran together through the wood. But up ahead Malcolm saw another General. The cobra hooded Lizard general hissed angrily. Giving a roll to his shoulders as he brought both weapons up.. But Malcolm refused to stop, he couldn't! He refused!

"Mighty Oxen of which I am Bonded, hear my plea.. I need your strength!"

Malcolm had only spoke to his animal for confidence but.. The Mighty Ox had listened in ways he couldn't have imagined. Feeling the power surging through him his body became encased within the purple avatar of his Beast! Head down, horns extended, Exalted Black tore through the Lizardman sending him helplessly tumbling backward. And when he looked up.. There was a new threat in this Lizardman's path.
The Oxen had headed Malcolm's plea and given him a new and tremendous power. The boy was gently set aside and quickly ran into the bushes to hide and watch this new hero. Malcolm’s gauntlets wrapped around his knuckles in a three-toed hoof of gold, attached with white. His jacket was gone. Replaced by a new armored look (Think Mighty Morphin’ Movie) with the symbol for his Oxen blazoned across his chest. Ending with his new Helmet. Shaped like the Oxen which had given him his power, mouth opened to reveal his visor. And two golden horns stretching above him. Clenching his fists, Malcolm roared with newfound energy!

EXALTED OXEN KNIGHT!

Roaring, Exalted Oxen Knight’s body became enflamed with the energy of his beast! And he charged! Each swing of the Cobra’s sword was blocked with Oxen’s gauntlets, merely slapping them away like some child’s toy! “You’ve taken to many of my friends, now I show you the Power of the Oxen!” A rough snort escaped him, Malcolm’s hands clenched tighter, and he unleashed a brutal, methodical, flurry of attacks on the Cobra!
Cobra hissed angrily. Bounced one direction and another as each amazingly strong punch landed against his armored hide. The last punch sending him stumbling backward, holding his new chest wound which bled black between his fingers. But Malcolm wasn’t finished.. Punching his fists together he called upon the final power!

OXEN CHARGE!

His head lowered, he gave an angry snort, and charged! Moving with an incredable speed added by thrusters within his back armor, Malcolm charged the Cobra with glowing golden horns! Hissing angrily the Cobra gripped his horns, planted his feet, trying to stop the charge! But all he was doing was skidding along the muddy ground as Malcolm continued to push. Nothing would stop now... Nothing could! Not until they struck that cliff wall, the cobra crying out in agony as he began to become crushed between Black and the mountain behind..

“For Jennifer, for my friends, for that child... BE GONE!”

The Cobra screamed as it exploded around Malcolm. The boy whined, fearing he had lost another friend.. But Malcolm, returned to his normal Exalted Black state, walked slow from within the smoke cloud raised when Cobra died. And opened his arms. The boy smiled, clutching Yellow’s helmet and rejoining his friend as they made their escape.
