Also Charlie and Ron added nothing to the film what? Those two were awesome and added humour without being slapstick idiots. Perlman in particular was great, and fuck Charlie Day's charatcer was, like, pivitol in discovering how the Kaiju work.

Yes the characters were. The actors could have been anyone though. When I see Charlie Day all I can think of is him in an apartment sleeping with Danny Devito and eating cat food. Admittedly I love It's Always Sunny. But he is the absolute wrong actor for this role. None of his lines sounded believable in the slightest.
