Jen Scotts is the
Pink Ranger
of
Power Rangers Time Force
, a police group from the year 3000. The Time Force Police had managed to eradicate nearly all the crime in the world, save for one last villain - a mutant by the name of Ransik. However, Ransik is finally captured and it would appear that Time Force had won. But in the process of moving him to a cryo-prison, they are ambushed and Ransik escapes. Before Jen and the other Time Force Power Rangers can stop him, Ransik strikes down Alex, the Red Ranger and Jen's lover who had just recently proposed to her, and escapes to the past. Alex, dying, gives Jen one final request - travel in to the past with the others and bring Ransik to justice. He gives her his Red Chronomorpher and Jen and the other three Rangers head to the year 2001, where Ransik has fled, to bring him back.
Sadly for Jen and the others, they discover that the Red Chronomorpher needs to be unlocked for the other morphers to work. It is then that they meet Wesley Collins, a playboy spoiled rich kid who has a striking resemblance to Alex. It is then discovered that Wes has the same DNA as Alex (meaning Alex is a descendant of Wes), and with his help, Time Force is able to unlock their morphers and manage to defeat the first of many of Ransik's cryo-thawed criminals. Jen refuses to allow Wes to join the team however - all she is able to see in Wes is how much he's not like Alex - and it takes awhile before Jen finally allows Wes to help.
Over time, Jen begins to grow feelings for Wes. He is good-hearted, good-natured and overall a caring individual. Wes, in turn, grows strong feelings for Jen. All this is put on hold when it is revealed that Alex is still alive, as he comes from the year 3000 and takes back his morpher from Wes and rejoins the team. But the team has grown accustomed to Wes and his leadership style, and Alex has become stern, stubborn, and very "by the book" in his attitude. He cares not for the team, willing to leave them behind to struggle if they are unable to perform their duties as Time Force Police. Eventually Jen cracks and lets Alex have a piece of her mind. Alex returns the morpher to Wes and returns to the year 3000 to help the team from the future, and the Wes and Jen romance continues, though Wes pulls away some knowing that Jen's fiance is alive and well.
At the end of the series it is revealed that all this time travel has screwed up the time-stream and the future heroes must return to the future, leaving Wes to fend off Ransik's final attack alone. In the future, Jen learns that Wes did not survive the final battle, but that his sacrifice saved the Earth, allowing the future to still exist. About to have her memories erased (standard procedure for time travel), Jen instead convinces her team to return to the past to save Wes. Before she goes, she returns Alex's engagement ring, signaling that she has finally chosen Wes over Alex. The Power Rangers Time Force return to the past and help Wes save the world. Ransik is recaptured and taken back to the future. Jen leaves with her team to the future, sharing the series' first "I love you" between two Rangers with Wes.
In the following season,
Power Rangers Wild Force
, the
Time Force Rangers
return in the two part episode
Reinforcements from the Future
. Three creatures called mut-orgs (half mutant, half org) come to the past and wreck havoc. Jen is revealed to have been in the present for a couple of weeks hunting them and is eventually reunited with Wes. At the end of the episode it is never stated if Jen, or the rest of her team, travel back to the future or if she stays behind with Wes, leaving the fans to come up with their own conclusion.
Power Rangers Time Force is a love story in disguise. The writers wanted to relay a message that everyone is free to choose their own destiny, that nothing is written in stone. The original ending of Time Force not only had Jen and Wes sharing a kiss, but also had Jen staying in the past with Wes. However, the powers that be did not agree with that ending, and thus the ending we got is what we ended up with. There was also talk and possibly even preliminary work done for a Time Force movie and the cast returning for a second season. Erin Cahill and Jason Faunt have both stated that the producers wanted the cast to return and the cast themselves wanted to return, but with the subsequent sale of the Power Rangers franchise to Disney, all such things were not meant to be.
Erin Cahill was contacted to return for the 20th Anniversary special, "Legendary War", the upcoming season finale of
Power Rangers Super Megaforce
, but chose to decline the role due to fears of her union status being in jeopardy for working with a non-union enterprise such as Saban Brands and Power Rangers Productions. She stressed how badly she wanted to return, but her career may have been in jeopardy if her union status was revoked for taking the role. We will get one-half of the Time Force love story though, as
Jason Faunt
returned to reprise his role as
Wesley Collins
the
Red Ranger
of
Power Rangers Time Force
for the 20th Anniversary special.
Erin Cahill
hit the ground running in 2001 with
Power Rangers Time Force
and never looked back. She has appeared in commercials and television shows ever since, including roles in
Without a Trace
,
Grey's Anatomy
,
How I Met Your Mother

,

,

,

,

,

,

, as well as doing voice overs in popular games like
Call of Duty
. Keep an eye out for her future projects -
