I'm with you completely about Mezul and Gamel. When they both died I almost didn't complete the series because of the feels. Especially Gamel falling to his knees and offering her Medal a final candy before becoming Medals.. But you have to feel sorry for Uva to. Matrix said it best: He just wanted to survive.
And Maki screwed him deep and hard. He wasn't even attacking anyone when he became complete, he was just walking off. Maki is the true bastard of that series. And he deserved exactly what Eiji and Ankh did to him.

I'm glad you are on the same boat with me there, and I do feel bad for Uva. How he even pleaded for help before he turned into that...thing...He didn't want all the power, he just wanted to survive. I never liked Maki from day one. The bastard almost had me feeling sorry for him, until he revealed that he murdered his own sister.
As for Gamel and Mezul, like I said before, it felt more "complete" when the two of them died together the first time. She admitted that she loved him and joined with Gamel, accepting the transformation into the mutated vessel. Gamel went out of his way just to make her feel strong again and that's all he cared about. I really wished they would have at least gotten together for real before she died. Then I wouldn't be gushing right now about how two bad guys ripped out my heart in the metaphorical way. I was supposed to be glad to see them go and root for OOO to beat them!
