It wasn't anything personal, I just don't like him. I don't know why he just always seemed... tacked on. And I think the toy of the Quantum Rex is why I didn't like the Zord in the show. Same with Manticore Megazord. I don't like that push-button batty auto-change gimmick.

The problem with this episode is a lot of fans over think it. Don't over think it Sentai. They simply wanted 10 Red Rangers for the 10th anniversary. The Quantum Ranger was filling in the gap left by season 2 that had no new Red suit or powers. PS I'm indifferent to the Quantum Ranger myself. He filled out the series well enough, but does become unimportant by the end (due to TimeFire footage).

Exactly. He's just there as a plot device and once Red accepts his role.. he becomes a useless plot device. Maybe I am overthinking it though.

I wouldn't go as far as saying Time Force would be better without him (in fact, he's fantastic in Time Force) but I have to agree about his role in Time Force. Especially since poor Rocky got no-representation whatsoever

Rocky never gets any love. Its sad.
