Remember Cartoon's original cartoons that were actually good? Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls (Which I still think they marketed wrong, I know more guys that watch it than girls). I'd rather sit down and watch a marathon of Cow and Chicken (Which I didn't get either) than watch anything they show now.
Even Adult Swim is on my last nerve. Bumps that are suppossed to be clever written by college drop-outs who think sarcasm is the only form of humor. Robot Chicken was one of their best shows, simple as it is. But I think they're that show that's been on so long that it's occasionally funny but is like that old dog with the anal leak and the crippling arthritis no one has the heart to put down because he's always been a loyal and loving friend.
Family Guy has been on so long I've seen every episode more times than I care to remember, American Dad has a few episodes that still make me laugh (Roy Rogers McFreely for some reason cracks me up), The Cleveland Show just isn't funny. Bob's Burgers I've never really seen but a few times.
Aqua Teen in it's various incarnations is like my opinion on Robot Chicken.
Their live action shows never once caught my attention.
Metalacolypse was one of my favorite shows. It was funny, the music was better than some bands out out these days, but they cancelled that to.
And even on the night they show anime they still show an hour or two of their idiotic comedy shows.
And Cartoon Network isn't the only one. The Hub cancelled Gi Joe: Renegades without warning, Disney XD cancelled Tron and changes airtimes without warning. And Nick.. Yea, that's how to get a show ratings. Six episodes, nine months off, six episodes.
And then you have network Saturday Morning TV which has gone from being three channels to just Vortexx. And all Vortexx is are reruns of shows that aired on other networks. Justice League Unlimited, and Transformers Prime, and Qubex. Do they even have original programming?

Bob's Burgers outdoes every episode of McFarlane's crap with just it's pilot alone. It does everything Family Guy tried to do without having to cut away or dip into shock gags.

And why do you dislike Regular Show and Gumball? It's the same kind of obtuse humor as Ren and Stimpy or Cow and Chicken except it can't have as many penis innuendo jokes.
Trying to praise Cow and Chicken (Which I do know you said you didn't get) when Gumball is basically that with more current humor seems hypocritical and just screaming "I don't like change."
