This is very interesting. I love the Sengoku era so it's great to see the connections. I hope 2 of the people I am intrigued with from get some sort of reference/connection in it.

Any chance Ryugen is some how a connection to Uesugi Kenshin because he was called the Dragon of Echigo and was interested in Chinese Mythology and had great military intelligence.

Could also lead that Zangetsu's name being Takatora which has Tiger in it could be a connection to Takeda Shingen, who was known as the Tiger of Kai.

I don't have much knowledge of the Sengoku Era so this just stuck out to me.
