Oh boy... after seeing the first five episodes... there really is a lot it must do to be worthy of this praise. That'll all happen right? RIGHT?

They had to learn to work together (as we will see in the following episodes).
I will say that they didn't really do a good job with this (at least during the first 5 eps). The team looked competent together from the beginning and there didn't seem to be any conflicts at all.

we get one of the most memorable monsters of the series in the form of Magmavore.
Memorable? It didn't do anything but cause damage.

Riding The Edge is an episode which I remember mainly for it's incredible main setpiece (the shuttle rescue) and for the implied lesbianism between Kelsey and the shuttle pilot Nancy.
LOL, the lesbianism was the best part about the episode... Nancy is hot!

The resuce of the shuttle is simply amazingly done, with each of the Zords doing something and working together in a logical, sensible manner to get the job done. Joel grabs the shuttle with his magnetic hooks, Dana clears the freeway of cars, Kelsey gets the shuttle to land on the back of Haz Rescue 4, and then Carter picks up the shuttle with Pyro Rescue 1's hands. Whirlin' was a good monster as well, because he (like Magmavore) was tied directly to the threat of the episode and not tacked on like the previous monster.
I agree. I love it when the mecha actually do stuff rather than just pop out of the ground and merge to become the Megazord. Though the credit goes more to GoGoV for this than PRLR.

A Matter of Trust is the weakest of these five mainly because so much time is spent with the goofy fisherman guy who Dana has to babysit.
This was definitely the worst episode of this bunch.

I don't know if they said anything by the end of the series, but we don't even know if it hurts them to begin with.

Huh? I just had absolutely no idea what cb1 was talking about.

Two words my friend: "Plot Contrivance." To be honest I much prefered the way that the demons invaded in the finale, with Jinxer sneaking a Batling Summon card onto one of the Zords. Now THAT was creative!
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

The things I do for you mang... the things I do... the music wasn't as good as the MMPR stuff either.
