EDIT: Aaaaaand I just finished Ryuki 12. Interesting revelations on Yui's brother and what his experiments had to do with Yui and Ren's now comatose girlfriend, Eri.

Also...Ren's contract monster is kind of a dick. I mean I realize that none of them are even remotely friendly, but for NO REASON the Bat monster showed up in the mirror of Eri's room, like it was mocking Ren for having to rely on it when it was the one who (apparently) put her into a coma.

How much sentience do contract monsters have, if it's ever explained. I mean they gotta be pretty intelligent but are all of em smart enough to pull off a prickish move like bat did?
