I agree with every statement made by Blade Raider above.
I loved loved loved the cast of Gokaiger. They had a cynical, slacker, punk rock attitude but were still good-hearted, genuine heroes. I could watch that cast forever, and for me the cast is what defines a sentai show more than anything.
A similarly great cast, one that approaches the idea of sentai with the exact opposite sentiment of the Gokaigers, are the Kyoryugers. They unabashedly embrace the idea of sentai and all its silly tropes with a near-zealous brio, but are equally charming and fun to watch.
In fact, more than anything I'd love a team up series between Gokaiger and Kyoryuger. Their diametrically opposed attitudes toward being a sentai would generate some interesting conflicts.
But that said, no story can go on indefinitely, and generally I prefer the way Japan handles a story by making it utterly finite.
