Okay it's probably safe to write a bit more

It was very good, but not great. It was a whole hour dedicated to tying up the buttload of loose ends from seasons 5-7, which was both a good and bad thing. Good in that yay, no loose ends. Bad in that I just don't think it all played out that well. In the end the Silents were completely underwhelming.

Galifrey turning up was predictable given the situation, but having it revealed to survive the plot from the last episode and then have it swan off again without a though was dumb. I really hope it's not going to become a "last of the Daleks" scenario..

It was a great end for the 11th Doctor, emotional but at the same time dignified (unlike his predecessor). That final speech about remembering every moment of his life was wonderful. Capaldi was good I guess? I don't really feel 20 seconds is enough to judge him on, but that doesn't seem to be stopping everyone in both camps

Most importantly Asylum of the Daleks' ending seems to have been retconned, and that's a victory as far as I'm concerned.
