I never said he controlled him.Right was over there because that's how the Conductor imagined him to be,brash and bold,heading into danger without fear.The reason I think they are part of his imagination is because we never really get a story on how they met the Conductor.

They're just there on the train.Anything involving them as kids is a flashback.What if those flashbacks are the Conductor's memories?
