I loved all the characters apart from Kai cos of how weird and undeveloped he was. the touching moments and general interactions between the Ryutaaro and the Imagins were brilliant, and throw in Yuuto and Deneb as well = PERFECTION.

Funny you bring the ranger thing up. The year after Den-O ended we had Go-Onger and Kiva running side by side. During the Kiva movies theater run the Imagin promoted it and they had a couple comedic shorts where they drove around in the Go-Onger RV. And at the finale of the shorts they did a Go-Onger role call! Now that was awesome.
