I explained that in my post though, a lamp is an object and the word lamp identifies that object, it isn't its name in the human sense. Just like we're all humans, it's what we're identified as but our name isn't 'human' individually which is what we're on about here.

If it was called Alex the lamp, then you'd leave Alex alone as that is a name, but the rest should be translated because none of those are names.

Weapons and mecha don't have names, unless the series directly identifies it as such. An Adventure Rod is exactly that, it isn't the Adventure Rod called the Bouken Bou, so Bouken Bou should be translated to Adventure Rod which is what those words directly mean (at least I think) as they're objects not names of the objects.
