This is exactly what I mean! Sometimes they'll do a special move where they pick up the monster and swing it around -- but that's a rare, special treat.

Compare that to the best of Go-Busters or the early episodes of Kyoryuger. It's a huuuuuuuuge leap.

Now that I'm thinking about it... I wonder if expanded daikaiju fights are how the SS production teams filled the extra time when the show leaped from 17 to 22min.

Speaking of which -- Aoi Kurenai, do you know any resources that might explain why/when the show added 5min to its runtime? Did that happen with Zyuranger? 'Cause I recall Jetman being about 17min/episode as well (minus OP & ED credits).

EDIT: Oh, Google. 5min of research and you give me an answer. It happened with episode 8 of Megaranger, when the show jumped from 5:30PM Fridays to 7:30AM Sundays. Interesting.
