Actually, Cole flies forward wreathed in smoke and fire. It's called the Firebird Strike. But unlike Ice Launch, it doesn't aid in travel nearly as well.

They were Fire. Though Cole's use of her powers tends to manifest in smoke, ash and draining the lifeforce from everyone in the vacinity in an unholy feast. And the theirs "Spikers." I'm not even going to try and figure out how they work with Fire powers.
