The difference is: Faiz's design doesn't lend itself to a shark. His head crest (Which usually in the design of the character's horn/antennae when based on a bug) is supposed to resemble a shark's fin, but they split it in two, making it more of a match for bug antennae. His mouth plate (Which features the teeth) has no real indicator that they're there. There are grooves in the mouth plate, but unless there's a close up shot and the viewer is looking for them, no one would see them (Which is why no one thought Faiz was a shark until the Den-O OOO Net movie shorts, which explained this last year).

Faiz's comparison to a firefly was a stretch, but that was only because he didn't really look like anything else.

In one of the Decade Net movies it was said he's based off a shark too.
