Although none of the ideas are all that original, for a TV series Almost Human is really high concept. It's absolutely gorgeous, even if the CGI is nowhere near modern movie standard. Blade Runner is my favourite movie, so it was especially nice that it seemed to take so much from Blade Runner, from the Replicant like Dorian, to the obsession with memories and the pounding rain.

Karl Urban is doing his best Keanu Reeves impression but half way through he gets partnered with the synthetic series DRN - or Dorian - and the show really comes to life. If you weren't blown away by the visuals, their relationship should keep you hooked all the same.

Can't wait to watch the second episode.
