It all kinda makes sense, in its own gloriously silly context, but nonetheless the editor of this seriously needs firing because it's how choppy and slapped together sequences feel that make this seem so incoherent, not the balls to the wall storytelling.

I can assure you that there's less ADD after the first episode. The show definitely focuses more on being a Sengoku era period drama that just happens to have mechs in it after that. For sure stick with it, at least until the opening changes.
