That was not the case for Sailor Moon. I really think its safe to say a faithful adaption of the manga would never have had such a big lasting effect on the anime world as Sailor Moon did. Deviating from the manga was a good decision on their part. It ended up both more enjoyable and more accessible and better for a weekly serial.

But the thing a lot people in japan loved manga more the anime they were happy that there was an anime back then but that cause they loved the manga
