According to the percentage thing I'm on the home stretch of Last of Us already, and I haven't even put in ten hours yet. Luckily there is DLC out as this is a pretty short title.

Usually when the character you're playing as in a video game like this swaps, it's a cheap novelty but taking control of Ellie, thrust into a chase sequence with a deer both shows how much Ellie has grown over the course of the game and also hints at the person she may have always been inside.

There's only really two things that are bogging the game down for me by thi point. Firstly are Clickers, which are still one of the worst video game devices of all time. They are placed around the map like generic enemies, despite being bastards to kill who can make even shorter work of you, than you can of them. They are pointlessly difficult and add an unnecessary layer of pure frustration.

Plus although I like the mature storytelling I must admit that the overwhelming pessimism telegraphs the twists from miles away. You may not know how they'll play out, but you know it's coming. By this point for something good to happen will be the only thing to shock me.

Many of my earlier complaints - like the games complete and utter lack of originality - started to fall away as soon as they game had established its world so it could start focusing on the stuff in that world.
