Chapter 1 Part 3: The not-so Great Escape

"To bring light into the darkness and make justice's blood run wild! Nighmare Red!"

"To ensure that people can enjoy their lives and jump for joy! Nightmare Green!"

"To punish evil and defend the planet from all that wish it harm. Nightmare Yellow."

"To clear the skies of evil and make people's spirits soar again! Nightmare Pink!"

"To lash out against the darkness and sing the songs of hope! Nightmare Blue"

"Uh, Alasdair you didn't put much effort into your role call" Blaise said."To be a hero you must have passion and heart"

"I'll never see myself as something so foolish" Alasdair moaned."This is only a means to a end for me" but he was cut out by Melia, who was rather upset by his lack of commitment.

"Our first role call and you ruined it!" she screamed at the top of her lungs."You are such a pill! We need to work together if we want to win this!"

After getting that out her chest, everyone got into their fighting poses as the Zorigummies advanced. As they do that the code "Weapon Summon" was imputed into the Cloaking Cell. As quick as a wink the main weapons were brought before them in a flash of light.

"Hanging Staff!" Red's weapon is a red bostaff with golden bat's heads at the ends of it. He spun it around a bit before dropping it with a loud clank then picked it up sheepishly.The Zorigummies wern't going to be polite and wait for him to get his bearings so Red kicked the staff up to where he could grab it then did a rabid multi strike attack on the group heading towards him, taking out about 8 or so.After doing that he dropped it again to the annoyance of Alasdair.

"Swamp Hammer!" Green's weapon is a giant hammer with a brownish-green head and bottom. The head has a lillypad theme to it with a spike at the top of it. She swung it down and caused a tremor to know down a good number of Zorigummies."I'd say I'm laying the hammer down but that'd be a big lie, now would it?" she said with her usual happy-go-lucky tone of voice.

"Ocean Whip!" Yellow's weapon is a cat o'nine tailes with a yellow handle with nine stretchy cords. At the ends of the cords are horse's heads molded in a copper-like metal. This same material is at the end of the handle too. With a flick of the wrist he knocks back several Zorigummies. Green and Blue started an A cappella version of Devo's "Whip It" but Alasdiar glared at them to stop.

"Wild Knuckles" Blues was now wearing a pair of blue brass knuckles with four silver curved blades at the end of each. With two swings he destroys two Zorigummies."UNABLE TO IDENTIFY UNKNOWN ITEM" one of the robots droned. " You can call them knuckles. They don't like tonic, they don't chuckle. They'd rather flex their muscles." Blue told them. Yellow just facepalms at this.

"Crusher Sais"Pink's weapons are a pair of sai with silver blades. The handles are pink with a silver four-toed bird claw at the end of them. She impales one of the automations in its power source located in its chest and chucks it at four others, knocking them all down. "I always was a bit of a heart breaker" she chuckled.

Of course the bots aren't going to stand around forever and the Nightmaranger have proven to be a threat that needed to be dealt with right now. All of them charged after the traitors, but they were more than ready now. Red spun his staff at one of them then planted it into the ground. He then did a spinning kick with two legs, breaking a baker's dozen of Zorigummies. Green crushed a robot with her hammer then did a split kick to two bots than were wishing to flank her. She then advanced over to a small grouping of them, swinging her hammer at them. In a short while she disabled them all.Yellow cracked his whip at the robots, shattering a few of them. He then wrapped it around one of the Zorigummies's neck and threw it over to a cluster of them. The force caused them to shut down after that. He just snorted at them.Blue slashed at ten of them, cutting each cleaning though. He rolled towards one of them and tore it in half with sheer brute strength."I may be a werewolf but it's you guys that are howling mad!" he laughed. Pink impales a ZoriGummy with her sais and while stilling holding on to them kicks another's head off. She then yanks them out and strikes seven straight into their CPUs, shutting them down for good."I guess in the end you lost you heads over this battle" she said with a smile. The rest of the Zorigummies had no choice but to retreat, knowing this to be a losing battle.

"Yeah, alright, we did it guys!" Red said with a leap of joy. But unfortunately on the way down he slipped on some oil and faceplanted."Oh no,Blaise!" Green, Blue and Pink shouted out of worry. But Red was able to get up and do a weak thumbs up, showing he was alright.

"Well that went better than I hoped, although it was still painfully bad" Yellow snipped as they powered down."If we're done here can we get the Monsterrors and go? We no longer have a life here."

Meanwhile on Earth a down on his luck detective is sitting at his deck, rubbing his temples in frustration. He's a man in his early 30s with short graying hair and stubble, wearing a mustard yellow suit with a old black duster. He was tasked to figure out why there was this strange hole in sky and he was at wit's end. He wasn't a scientist, for heaven's sake! But money is tight and he could always use a little extra scratch. Still he couldn't help but wonder if anything would come out. Little did he know that will come true sooner than he thinks.

"OK we each need to claim a vehicle and get out of here imminently." Alasdair told the rest."You're not the boss of us, Y'know" Melia said."I say we let Gregory pick first. After all if it wasn't for him we won't be here right now."

"In that case I get the big one" Greg then placed his key into the holding chamber's keyhole. After turning it the metal box faded away reveling a colossal F-1 racer with wolf's legs details molded into the wheel wells, a engine shaped like a wolf's head and the spoiler having a pattern like a wolf's tail."Suh-Weet!" he exclaimed.

Alasdair was annoying that the core vehicle wasn't his, but there were four other boxes to choose from. Two were slighter larger than the other two and so he pick one of the bigger ones. From out of the container came a large speedboat with a seahorse's head and horns as it front and it rear engines looking like coiled seahorse tails."This will have to do"

Melia was next and she chooses the last of the larger boxes. From within came a hovercraft with a frog's upper head-like hood and the fan having a lillypad look to it." It's just perfect for little ol' me"

Blaise picked one of the smaller boxes. A fighter jet with a bat's head for a nose and wing designs on it own wings hovered out of the container."I hope I don't get too nauseous flying this thing" he stated.

Last was Aiko. Her container reveled another fighter, this time with a bird's head theme nose and bird like designs on the wings." To soar even higher than before is a gift I shall cherish and use to defend the peoples of the Earth" she calmly said.

After boarding their respective Monsterrors and using their Heart Keys given to them by Overshadow himself to turn them on, The Nightmaranger left for the portal to Earth and with a little luck, freedom.

But their luck had run out long before. One of Overshadow's most loyal henchmen has seen what had transpired and he was not pleased at all."You were given such gifts and you choose to squander them on hopeless dreams! It is time for you to wake up from this false dream!" He then threw out his cloak to reveal a octopus-like form with mechanical tentacles.

"It's high time you faced Octocrush,'Nightmarangers'"
