It's almost like they were planning for a new Rider series and shoehorned the idea of it being a continuation of Black simply based on popularity. Any ties to the previous series feel really tacked on and not natural, and important questions are never answered. Like where the hell is Katsumi and Kyoko? Are they still in California? Even if they couldn't get the actresses back, at least mention them.

As far as I understand it, this is more or less what happened. The show was meant to be just another new Rider show but was changed to a sequel fairly late in the game.

I'm glad to see someone else giving the show a chance, though. I'm stalled at the early 20s right now, but I've been enjoying the show a lot more than I expected to. It's not Black, but it's still pretty damn good.
