Pausing, using your map to fast travel, or trying to start a mission are how you can detect an intrusion... And I quickly learned is why you should avoid anybody with "strong" defense skills because they're probably just spamming the hell out of those to detect anyone.

No, I'm not online. I turned the Online Invasions off. In fact, it did it twice to me yesterday and the day before.
