Gen's not a total idiot, no, but a good chunk of his fights consist of Kengo telling Gen which switch to use or Gen fumbling through 3 or 4 different ones before getting an effective one.

Gen has the power to beat Blade and Knight, but Gen is just a bit too straight forward. His strategy kind of boils down to "Running at him with Claw didn't work? Let's try running at him with Spike!", especially with the kinds of switches he has (Beat, Stealth, Ice, Net, Stamper, Pen/Ink (Forgot what it was called), Hopping, etc).

Even with Cosmic, he rarely uses creative combos, just using the amplified switches inserted in the sword or the combos are kinda just, blah.
