The one thing that pisses me off more about Japan's lack of continuity is how little they seem to care about that fact at the same time.

Everyone raves about Gokaiger but I actually found it an incredibly alienating, challenging watch, as it was a celebration of a franchise where every series clashed with the next and the show was forced to edit out the bits that didn't fit - or more regularly - just smash everything all together creating plotholes so big you could ride the Galleon through.

And I know "it doesn't matter" but it shouldn't be a big thing to ask that these shows make sense even if its just within their own internal bullshit rules.
