I haven't been to a ton of airports, but I'll just speak from what I know.
The best airline I've sat in is Cathay Pacific. I haven't the luxury of sitting in a ton of fancy airlines, but Cathay is no contest. Good service, excellent food, great movies, top of the line aircraft. Plus, they have power sockets for in-flight charging of electronics, which is the greatest idea in the history of aircraft and should always be utilized. I hear Singapore Airlines is pretty good too, but I don't have the luxury of sitting in that yet.
The worst is Royal Brunei Airlines, which in itself is not that bad. It's just we had terrible experiences with it (lost luggage, massive cancellations, etc) , and it is rather subpar for a non low-cost airline. Also the only flight I've ever thrown up in in my life.
Though I absolutely detest flying, I think most airlines I've used so far have done their job.
The best airport I've been to is Changi Airport in Singapore. State of the art, simple yet classy, and has all the amenities you could want anytime of the day. It is also very well connected between terminals and to the city. The only thing really lacking is power sockets for charging laptops, but they make up for it with impressive charging stations and booths. Hong Kong International Airport comes in a close second.
The worst airport I've been to is O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. It's not lacking in facilities per se, once you've passed security. However, before security almost everything is hell. No restaurants outside of the international terminal, no restaurants past security IN the international terminal, crazy long check-in lines, frightening TSA security, lack of simple facilities such as currency exchange (only one available), over-crowded terminals, not the friendliest staff, poor transport to get to other towns, and a really depressing industrial design. Let's not get started on their immigration lines. Its one saving grace is the wide array of hotels to check in during long transits but that's about it.
