It seems to me that some people want Kouta to be someone who makes 'hard choices' and 'does what he has to do' when his central character is that he doesn't accept that sacrifices and questionable deeds are required to achieve peace and happiness.

Do you see this episode, It Established that Kouta is an idiot hero like Shinji because he won't kill that Bastard Micchy, You know what happen to Shinji in Ryuki. I am not spoiler alert you if you hasn't see that show. I know Kouta's actor try to based his character on Yusuke Godai from Kuuga
