Something that I just thought of, What if "Ghost" Takatora was right? Mitsuzane has gone so far off the deep end, what if Mai gets in his way? He might not hold back and simply strike her down where she stands... Like right in the way of him finishing off Kouta... Which could both break Mitsuzane and push Kouta far enough to "End" Mitsuzane...
