Chapter 2 part 4: Song of sorrow

Normally people would be shopping around, chatting about the latest fashions and whatnot. But what was meant to be a fun time for all turned sour when something attacked the shopping district and captured the hapless shoppers. To think it happened just a short while ago...

Two hours ago

"OMG! That outfit looks so cute on you Hitomi-chan!" "EEEEE! Check out these deals, Nami-san. Two bottles of perfume for the price of one. Now that's a bargin!" "Ohmagod ohmagod you guys, Jam Project's doing a concert here in a week! We have to go there!"

Takato was trying to drown out the sounds of the three girls he was forced to watch out for, but somehow their voices were louder than his iPod.He grit his teeth as so far they have been nothing but a bother.'First than Goth got a job at the garden center and ruined it with his cosplay buddies. Now since it will take some time to fix the place up I'm forced to watch over these brats until the time comes' he pondered. All three were about his age, 18 to 19 but they were not as mature as he would have liked.

Nami was a kogal with two short pigtails and a sleeveless top with white straps, with a sparkling pink tube skirt and sandals. Being spoiled from a young age meant she never learned how to control the volume of her voice, much to his chagrin as his ears were still sore from CyborgDrake's attack. Hitomi was the youngest of the trio, with long black straight hair with white stripes by the middle, a teddy bear T-shirt with a blue jacket and bejewled jeans and sneakers. She was also a notorious daddy's girl with a fondness for things fancy and cute, with emphasize on the later. The third of the trio was Sakoya, the oldest but you'd never have guessed by how she looks and acts. With brown curly hair, a yellow sundress and orange highheels, you'd think she was in junior high still and in a way her mindset was still that way in a sense.

Takato wanted to end the trip early so he can rest up for tomorrow but the girls kept finding things to buy, things to gawk at and since it was around dinner time, things to eat as well. He glared at the multicolored bags that littered their area and at long last spoke up."I'm glad you had a great time but I'm in the red right now and I should rest up for Blaise's termination. You'll have to wait until I have my job back or I find other employment." He tried to say this politely but the tone of his voice betrayed his annoyance with the girls."You really need to mellow out Takato-san. All that stress isn't good for his skin"Sakoya told him."She's right. Try to be ultra happy! After all, life is too short to be bummed out about these sorts of things!"Nami bellowed, causing him to flinch."Not so loud Nami-chan. You know he's a little senative right now about loud noises."Hitomi stated to Nami, not minding the fact that she was being just as loud. Takato was at this point giving them the evil eye. The girls were staring at him blankly, having no idea they were driving him to the point of anger.

While they were talking to themselves, Cyborg Drake teleported behind them. His hands were cover with clawed gantlets and his eyes were purple instead of the brown they were before. Takato however knew to warn them but they kept shushing him to keep quiet. By the time he grabbed Hitomi by the shouders C Drake stunned them with sleeping spores and wrapped them up in strong vines.

Present time

Cyborg Drake had knocked away all who had tried to rescue his captives, from fellow shoppers to guards to police officers, all of whom he stunned and wrapped up. He was just about teleport them back to Ironclash Castle for experimentation when Takato woke up and he was not happy at all."After dealing with these three idiots and that damn Goth you'd had to come back! I'm sick of you!"As he raged on all the others were in a state of deep slumber, unaware of what was transpiring.'Do not try to resist us, human',Drake signed back at him.'We shall bring you back to my homeworld for experiments. You will pay for harboring the traitors.' Soon a portal opened up behind Cyborg Drake and Takato knew he was no mere cosplayer. He tried to break free but the vines were too strong for normal humans to free themselves from.

Before he could be thrown through it Alasdair crashed thorough the glass ceiling on his Devil Cycle, landing on top of Drake."I think you're the bigger traitor,Drake. Throwing away everything you had, everything you were, all for false power." he boldly told him as he turns off his bike and hopped off it. C. Drake did a rude gesture and ran at Nightmare Yellow, tackling him to the lowest level. When they landed Drake kept punched N. Yellow, trying to break his helmet open but the Lantern Blasters of the other four Nightmarangers blasted him off.

"Taking part of the late night deals, hmmm?" Pink joked to Yellow."I doubt it. That ol' pony wouldn't know how to have fun even if he downloaded a app for it" Green giggled. "Are you alright, Alasdair-san?" Red asked out of worry to the prone Yellow."Um Red try not to use our real names while we're in uniform. We do have to keep this a secret so Grant's not bothered by our fans"Blue corrected him.Yellow jumped up and pointed to the problem that was still at hand."We still have to deal with Cyborg Drake and it doesn't help that you two are babbling on about out personal lives!" he snapped at the two of them.

"One of these days you're going to go too far and then where will you be?" Green told him sternly."We can argue later.Right now we have people to save"

"We shall hold him off for you. Blue, you free the hostages." Pink calmly said."No problemo, Pink! I'm on this like glue and paper!" Blue shouted as he ran off to free the people.

"No offense to you but you're too woodsy for a place like this. What we need here are some flowers!" As Green was saying this she typed in FLOWER FLUTTER and a cluster of flowers soon struck C.Drake, sending him to one knee. Before they could bumrush him Drake slammed him palms down and jaded trees popped up and damaged the four Nighmarangers. Just as Blue was about to reach the top floor when the others were C. Drake fired spores and sonic waves at him, knocking him over the side. As he hung on, trying to get back up Cyborg Drake lashed out with a thorn cover vine at Nightmare Blue's hands, cutting them open. He kept doing this until only Blue's right hand was holding on. But soon the slickness of his blood combined with his fatigue caused him to let go, sending him down to the bottom floor in a help. He tried to get up but he was too tired to even stand up, let alone fight.

Cyborg Drake was pleased indeed. Soon all of Overshadow's enemies will fall and the Nightshade Empire will rule over both worlds! If he was still able to laugh he would have done so over at how well this had gone.

Next time: Can Takato and Grant turn the tide of battle for the Nightmarangers or is C. Drake too strong for them?
