A lot of Showa KR holds up better than early-Heisei KR. Because the Showa series were shot on film instead of low-res video, they tend to look more expensive and less soap-opera-y. And since Showa series rely less on CGI, there's less distracting, dated visual nonsense going on.

Plus, the martial arts action is more brutal, visceral, and bone-crushing in the old shows.

Showa Rider is surprisingly baller.
