Finally got around to opening Ultimate Zero renewal today.




Regarding the armor, the centerpiece is attached to the body by a ball joint, the shoulder armor by hinge joints & the spear pieces on the back of the shoulder armor peg in (they can be removed, but peg back in tightly). You can also swap the lance on his right arm with the bracelet on his left.



Handling him, he's basically Top-Heavy Zero, which one can expect. The hands on the normal Zero renewal are really hard to get on and off & the Tamashii stage cover that removes from his back falls out easily; neither of those problems exist on Ultimate renewal, though.



He comes with a fun "bow & arrow" weapon/effect part that is to be used with Zero. Since the armor on Ultimate are their own pieces, the bow piece is its own single piece of plastic. You will have to use one of the left hands from normal Zero renewal to hold the bow piece (naturally Ultimate renewal doesn't come with it). I don't have the normal Zero box handy so I didn't try it out here. I imagine you can always have the armored up Ultimate Zero wield the weapon by borrowing one of normal Zero's appropriate left hands. It will be a tight fit though as you try to maneuver your fingers holding the hand into the narrow space where the grip for the hand is. The right-hand comes molded into the effect piece of it, and both ends peg nicely into the bow piece.

(I currently have normal Zero wielding his Zero Sluggers, and those hands aren't the best fit for the bow, and I didn't want to try forcing it.)



He's not as jam-packed with stuff as the Strong Corona/Luna Miracle two-pack is (still my favorite Ultra release of the year), but it manages well enough and is more interesting in my eyes than Astra or other Ultras with a minimal amount of accessories.
