Spielban is a refugee from the planet Clin. As a child, he, along with another Clinian named Diana, escape from the planet as it's being destroyed by the Waller Empire in their conquest for water.

Spielban and Diana grow up upon the craft and eventually don high tech "Crystal Suits" to help in their battle against Waller, who now have Earth as their current target.
