Things have a way of making certain impressions on us when they're novel and when we're young. We see new things and we are totally amazed with them and they stick in our memories forever. We associate those memories with the emotions we faced during that time and we'll always fondly remember them.
That's not so easy nowadays because firstly, we're older and less easily impressed and secondly, there's too much of a good thing with entertainment. While something like the first Christopher Reeves Superman movie was a marvel back then, it's now very commonplace. Thus it's far too easy to say that they did it better back then when contemporary stuff has progressed a lot as well.
Like Matrixbeast said, it's problematic only when you start applying nostalgia glasses to everything. Saying something isn't good because of legitimate problems with the production is fine, it's only when you ignore similar problems in the originals that it becomes a flawed perspective. For example, MMPR does almost as much wrong as Power Rangers Samurai but most people conveniently forgot how corny the acting in MMPR could be, or how bad the lines were, or how boring some episodes could be. I don't wish to start a debate on whether MMPR or Samurai is better, I'm just saying that people ignore the faults of MMPR that they accuse of being present in Samurai.
However, I feel it is important to keep to nostalgia, memories are part of our identity and who we are. Just make sure that you've an open mind to realize that what's available now is not the same, and may just be enjoyable enough if you stop comparing.
