So I’m trying to translate the Space Deleter Morpher, Cosmo Driver and I’m running into some questions I could use some suggestions on. I’m pretty sure the creators just threw together random words they thought would sound cool for the series. It doesn’t help that the Chinese names don’t really translate very well literally, so you have to take some liberties with the translation. An example would be the Solar Saver, which if you translated literally would be Sun King War Strike or something. This is also an issue when trying to translate English into Chinese (look up any league of legends champion’s name in Chinese).

The first problem is how to translate the name of the Rangers. I could go with a more liberal translation, using the astrological symbols, so the red ranger would be Mars Force, blue would be Mercury Force, etc. I believe they used these in an episode of the show, but it’s also not what the actual written material calls them. The instructions name the rangers using an element, so __战卫, where the blank is an element like fire, earth, etc. The problem here is that 战卫 can be translated literally as Battle Guardian, though 战 is war and 卫 is guardian. If using this translation, would it be preferable to call the rangers __ guardian or warrior. Which translation do you guys prefer and if using the more direct translation, do you prefer warrior or guardian?

The other issue I've run it the naming scheme for the Yellow Ranger’s vehicle. The core three are a bit easier, where you can call them rising arrow or sky transporter, but the yellow ranger’s drill tank thing is literally called steel iron. I really can’t think of how to make this better sounding at all, any suggestions?
