I'm not against a female Magical Girl style rider (Though, full armored suit. Not mini skirt and school girl top with a bow on her cleavage). I am against a character who can "Nuke the shit out of you with magic laser spam", however.

Well, the Nanoha franchise also has skilled close combat weapon users in addition to the long range weapon users. I was just using the nuke suggestion to make me sound not crazy .
