But yes I know Aikatsu, I watched a decent amount but I can't say it's my favorite idol anime or that it would even rank up to my top 5 idol animes I love/like.

Still a cute fun idol show to watch, but when compared to IDOLM@STER or Love Live it dosen't have that depth or level like among other idol shows. Like Any other of Bandai anime it' meant to sell their products within the show to kids, Aikatsu is just like that.
