Some shows are better at handling this toy thing than others, but when a show just doesn't have enough character to keep itself interesting without having a new toy show up I just drop out. The rest of the show just feels stale at that point.
Now with Sentai we just have the same episodes every year, and that our rangers need to learn about team work. Now granted this is a kids show, but they, the writers can always change up the formula every once in a while. It's one of the reasons I loved Go-Busters. While having some of the same tropes, it was still able to tell a story without relying on toys.
personally I'm more annoyed by the fact that this is the third series in a row now where the general's goal is to gather human emotion in order to revive the big bad.
