He's now Black, which unlike the TV show the rest of the Wests are not but that's not the problem. As a Black man, when you just alter a pre-existing character's race instead of making a fresh new one, it bothers me. It bothers me that we're treated as just a palette swap, like it's meant to calm down those who want a character with a background like their own. "There, Asterix is black now. Quit whining and keep reading".

Not sure how I feel about this costume. It could have been worse.

Also he's not the same age as Dick or Victor, so we don't get the chance of their awesome friendship happening here.
