Going by the next episode preview, it looks like my theory about the gobuster's parents being digitized as information maybe correct...here's another:

What if they end up being the villains to replace Messiah?

Maybe they wanted to use Messiah for evil intent from the beginning, but he deviated away from their original goals. Or maybe being digitized as such a way for as long as they have, Messiah gradually started to effect them, thus turning them evil?
