Of course there can be a female red - and there should be. Currently Super Sentai seems to run on the same tropes series after series - over-enthusiastic male Red character that ends up being the strongest and most powerful of the entire team with a story line that somehow ends up revolving around him.

Even if they kept the same trope but had a female Red instead it would be a breath of fresh air.
