It could work as an idea, given that we know more about Gou as episodes go by but there a lot of unexplored details like how he meet up with Harley and became Mach, his reasons for running out of time and giving him more time would make his characters more fleshed out and still give weight to Chase aka best character in Drive.

I feel that could work, now if only there was a version of Drive where Chase is the proper main character, a man can dream.
