I don't bother with this thread because I don't really watch anime.
I would normally stay out of this particular discussion because of what I know about storytelling, I don't know about art.
But that statement...Wow. I'm not an artist, but that was insulting.
DA is a platform to get one's art out to the masses without printing and displaying in galleries and hoping someone notices. Many incredibly talented artists use it and get the fame they deserve from it.

Also, Van Gogh's work sold more because of the name attached than the quality itself because name recognition matters.

Anyway, off I go, since I don't anime often and this is over now.
