But Dragon Ball was a parody because it was meant to be a comedy series. Minus isn't contradictory in the slightest because Toriyama never wrote an origin story for Goku. Now he has, so this is the official story. It makes far more sense than Bardock being turned into a clairvoyant by a magic spell.
