We return with yet another look at the highly anticipated (and still hard to find)
Power Rangers Dino Charge
villains figures! This time we're looking at
Ice Age
, a monster that's named in
Dino Charge
but was more of a foot soldier in the
Kyoryuger
counter-part.
The Figure
For starters, as many of you know, I've had my gripes on the villain figures. While I've enjoyed the highly detailed sculpts and better-than-usual paint applications, my gripe has been with the lack of articulation. This is not an issue with the
Ice Age
figure, as he features more or less the exact same points of articulation that you'd get in a normal 5" figure. But there's just one problem - his hands are so huge with those ice claws that getting him to actually stand up with his hands doing anything other than working as balance-sticks is a challenge!
That doesn't take away from another beautifully sculpted figure, but it does get frustrating after awhile. The joints were also rather loose on my figure, but that can just be an unlucky lemon figure. I'd have to buy multiples to find out - and that's not really on my agenda.
The Accessories
There are none.
So let's break down the figure with the good and the bad.
The Good!
Love the articulation on this guy
Another example of beautiful figure sculpting
The head sculpt with the fangs is awesome - check out the front and side views of the head to see what I mean!
The Bad!
Heavy claws make any pose a little more challenging than normal
The colors are bland - while this does match the figure (for the most part) in the show, it does point out where paint applications were not applied
The Conclusion
The
Ice Age
figure is one of my favorites for articulation but in terms of looks it's sub-par to the other figures available in this assortment. If you're looking to complete the entire villains collection then you obviously need to grab this guy - but if you're only looking to grab "the coolest looking" then while this guy is cool (ba dum ching), he's below
Bones
,
Wrench
, and
Curio
in the looks department.
