Dang, I was really hoping to avoid another filler-heavy series after Oh and Car.

I went ahead and watched the first three eps today, and I liked them quite a bit. With the combo of space and high school, I can't help but be reminded of Fourze. Fortunately, Fourze is my favorite Kamen Rider series, so I'm not complaining.

After just watching a full season of nothing but wacky hijinks, it's nice to see a show with more threatening stakes. Part of the reason I'm doing the chronological thing is to see how each series is informed by the one before it. And I feel like Mega's more grounded/character conflict-driven approach is pretty refreshing after Car's relentless OTT humor. Frankly, I'm just relieved that the baddies this round don't appear to be utter bafoons.
