Don't get me wrong, Car's finale is totally fine. I liked it, and it successfully wraps up all of the show's loose ends. I just wasn't over the moon about it (which I fully expected to be, considering how much of the show I absolutely adore).

Compared to my favorite Sentai series finales (Jet, Dai, Kaku, Shinken, Gosei, Gokai, Go-Bus, and ToQ), where I wept openly several times over the course of the final few episodes, Car's finale really doesn't amount to much. For me, a good finale evokes a really strong emotional reaction... and as much as I loved the show, Car's finale was far from emotionally stirring.

Because at the end of the day, the show's #1 big bad guy was defeated by Gynamo throwing an expired Imo-Yokan into his mouth. And that makes it hard to feel emotionally connected to the climax. They went for the big joke... and that came at the expense of any big feels.
