It's not. The downside is, you're arguing how one bad thing isn't worse than another bad thing. They're both still bad. And it felt like a cop-out because Clara went against everyone's wishes and got rewarded for it. About how nothing bad happened, nothing had to be lost, all because Clara was right. It feels like it boils down to dislike of Clara, and how she's so damn good and how much she then freaks out at the Doctor, despite nothing bad happening!.
